El proyecto 3BOX, en Paris, a creado una solución alterna para traer hogares de bajo costo a ciudades densas en población. Gracias a ala legislatura Francesa, La Loir Alur, que permite legalmente la elevación urbana.
Este metodo involucra construcción que se añade o extiende de estructuras previas, este se a honrado el apodo de «Parasitic Architecture». Por lo general, los hogares, están hechos de acero, madera y cristal.
Lo interesante de este proyecto no es solo su estructura, si no también, su método de adquirir fondos. Este no funciona como cualquier compra de terreno, en vez de adquirir el terreno o propiedad a través de compra, el proyecto propone financiar renovaciones para el edificio, en cambio del terreno. Es decir, en cambio de la instalación de un ascensor o un mejor aislante,los propietarios le dan a la compañía los derechos a construir sus estructuras en sus propiedades.
Estas propiedades, son pre- fabricadas en un taller fuera de las instalaciones, y son atornillados en lugar cuando son entregados. El proceso le ahorra a la compañía una gran porción de dinero, permitiéndole vender los apartamentos a precios mucho mas económicos y razonables.
Con el proyecto 3BOX, mas espacio es creado en vecindarios llenos de comodidades, como restaurantes y tiendas. Ningún edifico antiguo tiene que ser derrumbado, ya que las unidades son extensiones de los edificios. Ademas, los diseños de los hogares son sustentable y cumplen con todas las normas y requisitos de un riguroso diseño ecológico.
Stephane Malka, creador del proyecto, asegura de que a pesar de su nombre, los apartamentos lucen mas como un penthouse de lujo, y no viviendas asequibles.
La iniciativa de la construcción encima de edificios, no es solamente una solución positiva ecológica y económica, si no que también es una manera contemporánea para descubrir nuevas perspectivas de la ciudad, un Paris nuevo mas allá del horizonte.
