Mudarse es un proceso que causa mucho estrés y dolor de cabeza debido a todo lo que implica. Recoger, empacar, decirle adiós a tu hogar y por supuesto, acostumbrarse a una experiencia nueva. Ahora bien, ¿Cómo asegurarse de que las cosas de cristal y tus objetos importantes van a llegar bien y sin romperse?
A quienes único no les molesta ni les afecta este proceso, es por supuesto, a los encargados de mudanza. ¡Ellos ya lo han visto todo!
Finn Murphy, el autor del libro «The Long Haul: A Trucker’s Tales of Life on the Road», dice que atravesar un proceso de mudanza no es algo fácil. También dice que durante este proceso, a las personas, su sentido de seguridad se les deshace, ya que se aferran a cosas y experiencias que ya no tienen ningún valor. Aún así, con todo el valor que le ponen a esas cosas, no significa que las empaquen bien o cuidadosamente.
A continuación presentamos los errores comunes que los encargados de mudanza han presenciado cuando ven a las personas empacar por sí mismos. También verás sugerencias de cómo evitar que se te rompan tus cosas importantes a la hora de mudarte.
1. La Prisa
El dueño de J. Viggiano & Co. Furniture Delivery, Jaime Viggiano, ha trabajado en mudanzas durante 30 años. 2. No empacar bien los objetos frágiles
La mayoría del tiempo, los platos no están bien empacados. Los platos deben empacarse envolviéndolos completamente, no empacándolos de forma «flat». Hay personas que los empacan de forma «flat», lo que garantiza que se pueden romper.
El fundador y presidente de Units Moving and Portable Storage, Inc. Michael McAlhany, dijo que ha visto personas que empacan maquinas de café con una taza aún puesta en la máquina, algo que definitivamente no se debe hacer.
Hay que asegurarse de empacar muy bien todo lo que se pueda romper fácilmente.
3. No asegurar los objetos pesados
En las mudanzas, las cosas que en más riesgo están son las que pesan mucho y que tienen patas; como por ejemplo, un piano.
Es tanto el peso que tienen las patas, que hay que asegurarse que estén bien protegidas. Para protegerlas bien, se deben cubrir las patas completamente con cartón.
Estos objetos tienen tanto peso arriba que si una sola pata se rompe, todo se viene abajo. Han habido veces que también hay problemas con lámparas de una pata. Las personas no las empacan y las dejan sin ponerles nada, luego se cae o algo le cae encima y se rompe, por no haberla protegido bien.
4. No dividir las cosas
Hay veces que la mudanza se debe a un divorcio, por lo tanto, hay que dividir las cosas entre la pareja. Las compañías de mudanza a menudo tienen que lidiar con peleas entre la pareja que se está divorciando por simples cosas como elegir quien se queda con qué.
Se debe dividir todo antes de que llegue la compañía de mudanza y tener en cuenta que los encargados de la mudanza no cogerán ningún lado.
Hay personas que piensan que los encargados de mudanza son un instrumento para todo el proceso de división de las cosas, pero no es así. Realmente los ponen en una posición bastante incomoda y es algo que se debe considerar.
5. Las peceras (Sí, ¡las peceras!)
De las cosas más increíbles que se han encontrado son clientes que empacan sus peceras con toda el agua adentro y con los peces también, ¡y esto se ha visto más de una vez!
Lo lógico es vaciar la pecera antes de moverla, pero no botar el agua; mejor es echarla toda dentro de un galón y luego echar ahí dentro los peces.
Con estos consejos, podrás hacer de tu proceso de mudanza uno más organizado y con menos ansiedad de por medio. Mudarse siempre es difícil, ¡pero hay formas de complicarse menos!
