El primer viernes de junio marca el Día Mundial de las Donas, por lo que varios establecimientos en Puerto Rico han aprovechado la oportunidad para deleitar a sus clientes con donas completamente gratis.
El Salvation Army estableció el primer Día Internacional de las Donas en 1938 en Chicago. Su origen llega en durante la Primera Guerra Mundial, en donde el Salvation Army tenía personas llamadas «Donut Lassies» quienes le servían donas a los soldados. Hoy, el Salvation Army continúa celebrando su trabajo entregando un dulce regalo a los necesitados, y a los amantes de las donas en todo el país el primer viernes de junio anualmente.
Aunque varios establecimientos no trabajan directamente con la organización, conmemoran el día regalando la delicia dulce a sus clientes.

Cuando de donas se habla, Krispy Kreme es lo primero que viene a mente, ¡y ellos lo saben! Para obtener una dona clásica glaceada completamente libre de costo lo único que tienes que hacer llegar y decir:»Yo creo que el mundo tiene forma de dona».
Wood Doughnts te regala dos donas con la compra de su media docena. El establecimiento está ubicado en Guaynabo, PR, están ubicados frente del paseo tablado en los solares donde se encuentran los foodtruck.

Kudoughs esta celebrando el Dia de las Donas de una manera distinta, pues lo celebraran el sabado 8 de junio invadiendo Vivo Beach Club junto a Ocean Lab con entredas libre de costo.
